Technically google gmail doesn’t have any option to create folders. The functionality of folder is replaced with Labels, which as google says is more powerful and flexible than folders. But still for those who used to organize emails in folders there is a way to achieve similar functionality in gmail. Here is how -
If you haven’t create any label yet then create a new label, to do this go to settings–>Label (or click on edit labels link on label frame on left sidebar). Once you have labels ready then you need to create filters to give direction for incoming emails, so that it can go to respective folders (technically labeled).
When creating filters, two main option which can provide this folder looks are – Skip the Inbox (archive it) and Apply the Label then select the label from the drop down box. To create a filter go to Settings–>Filters
