Today I learnt one thing, even though I knew it before but today it confirmed just like a science experiment you say hence prooved. What’s that? That is if you do not have a good or quality product to sell you get some big or popular name for your advertisement. That’s what exactly Bharti telecom did, they hooked Shahrukh khan for their new Airtel CallHome Service. Using this as they say, you can call India from USA at 7.9 cents.
Unfortunetly the 7.9 cents impressed me and at one bad moment I started resgitering with their poorly performed website. This website is damn slow, I think the worst performace wise I have ever seen. If the reason is number of hits then they should be prepared before launching their product in the market. Anyway after 5-10 minutes of struggle I think I am registed. Why I said registered because I didn’t get any confirmation, I didn’t get any e-mail, I didn’t get any user id and on top of that at the end of registration process it said there seems some problem with your home telephone number.
Now,I found another option and that is calling their 24×7 customer service and guess what? After trying couple of attempts I got message “ All circuits are busy please try after sometime”. In the last 24 hours whenever I called I got the same message.
Finally, I opted to go to their feedback page to post my complaint. Nothing to guess, even after filling every filed whenever I hit submit I got a message box, message similar like “please enter valid data in mendatory field” and that field was feedback text box where user is supposed to write about their problem. I checked and assumed may be it doesn’t take single or double quote so removed those from comment and tried again and got same message. smart me, then sent same comment using yahoo to their customer service.
Surprize surprize, I got automated reply with blank in the from address (see image above) so even they didn’t test that part too. So what the end result, I am going back to reliance and wqn even though they both charge 12.9 cents but I always get my call connected whenever I call. If not best but at least far far better than this big fuss called Airtel CallHome. Instead of paying big chunk of money to S. khan I hope they will use that to improve their products.

4Airtel call India is a CHEAT website. Beware of this site. Never create a account and give your credit card number on this site. 1. They have charge twice $25.00 on my account. 2. They have locked my account - I can not place any call to India. To resolve the issues… I am trying to get hold of 24×7 Customer Care No. 1-877-247-5150 but it NEVER WORKS - Always you will get busy signal. The “Current Balance”, ” Change Registered Numbers”, “Account History” in the website… never works. I am very much frustrated. Called my credit card company for fraud protection - Hopefully I will not loose more than $25.00 - Thanks to fraud protection on my credit card.

6Good that I am sitting in India.
I have Airtel connection here and it is considered one of the best service providers. At the time of floods and Mumbai blasts, the services weren’t jammed unlike other providers.
But as other people and you also have faced the problems with its “CallHome” service, they better think about it all over again.

7after hearing all the scary things about Airtel yesterday i took the risk of registering on the website…to my utter surprise it isnt that bad, infact it is gr8…call quality is superb!!!
much better than reliance..plus the gr8 prices…i dont understand why is this fuss all about…must have been some initial hiccups for Airtel..which now seem to have been taken care of…though few thr are ppl like me who would address themselves as
A satisfied and happy customer

8I agree Airtel’s call quality is great, though it took me some days to get started becoz of the delay in receiving the PIN…but guess wait was worth it!!
n now much expected and awaited price drop from reliance has also happened..we sure gonna have some fun!!!
but some how this entry of Airtel has reminded me of the days when in India Rel and Airtel would compete with each other slashing price..once that happens i seriously doubt reliance’s credibility…
and i see something similar happening here…
reliance india call website says…
“festive season valid till 31st jan”
..so that means after that rates would go back to 13cents..which i wont obviously like…and knowing rel’s track record i wont be surprised if it happens…

9Guys, curiosity kills the cat. SO i thought of experimenting it, but somehow the service is working perfectly fine. Infact I have also got my double talktime too…coooool man…this is the 1st promo of its kind in America i feel. I think Airtel had its problems initially…but yesterday’s experience was totally contradictive to what I’ve heard.

10@Sachin, @Rajagopal and @Vinod: It seems you all three have commented from same place (imssoutinfdel.airtel.in) infact I see the same IP address. Anyway I hope you don’t work for Airtel or have developed their site.
If Airtel is working fine for you then that’s good for you. I didn’t have good experience with their callhome service and so quite others fellow too.
There are lots of other sites which offer same rate as airtel. You guys enjoy your service with them.

11Airtel is doomed!! All the money they spent on marketing, infrastructure, everything down the drain…
I just got an e-mail from Reliance saying they slashed the price to 7.9Cents AND they are giving double talk time till Jan 30. I absolutely have no reason to try airtel again!
Imagine how much Airtel would have paid Sharukh and how much they would have paid for airtime on all those hindi channels. If they would have spent a fraction of it on quality/load testing, they would have been soo much better off…

13Dear Freinds,
I bought airtel card for 10$ validity. But after making 6.32$ call it is showing that ia have only 0.06$.
So as per my findings their decrement process is not correct.
I discussed this issue with customer care at least five times in a week but they have not yet resolved my issue.
I request to all of you to check your airtelcall home statement weather it is correct or not.
As per my findings their service is very poor. maximum time their toll free number are busy. many times you login does not work.
So if you are planning to buy airtel card. Then you may face similar issue.
So please do not buy this card. This worst card ever i use in my life.

Worst service i have ever experienced. Get Reliance as its the best.

15I have used many callingcards, but I have never came across as useless calling card like that of airtel. The call gets dropped every now and then.
Moreover, for getting my account activated, I had to call their customer service and after endless number of calls, came across a guy who said to call later as their system was down. You can easily judge the performance of their calling card if you try to visit their site which is down or tortoise slow most of the times.
Please go for reliance, its a more than 100% better bet and a value for money.
A true Mittal way to pocket people’s money
