Indian doctors now-a-days seems to be very used to for going on strike. In earlier days strike was supposed to be called by factory labor but now this job has been taken by the doctors. Once in a while you read the news about their strike. This time again doctors are on strike to protest the government’s move to sack institute`s Director (AIIMS).
A 35-year-old heart patient had died on his way from AIIMS to nearby Safdarjung Hospital after he was turned away in view of the strike yesterday and distance between these two hospital is approx. 25-30 feet. Another patient died today outside AIIMS in the absence of medical assistance.
Is this the right way to protest any government’s decision? For me this is just a misuse of democracy. In India there is no value of human life while in USA even animals get better treatment than this. No offense to anybody but this is true.
Come-on, no matter what happens, you don’t close emergency of an hospital. You have full rights to disagree with my this post same way as I have full rights to disagree with this strike. If you think tomorrow everything will be normal then just beware that would not be full stop but a sign which says ‘to be continued’.

Yes docs r always on strike, even at the risk of ppl’s lives. I thought most ppl want to become a doc cos they wanna save lives…not cos they want bigger salaries.

2Tarun, I agree that emergency services shouldn’t be stopped at any cost. There is really no value of human life. But we too are very tolerant as a nation and as a citizen. that’s why this “Chalta Hai” attitude prevails.

4@Z000nie, I agree this whole topic is debatable but I can’t buy shutdown of emergency services to get justice when there is another way out. People from small cities and villages comes to AIIMS. Two people died because of that strike (emergency shut down), Will or can they get the justice?
@alka, & @Keshi, thanks for sharing the views.
