Couple days back I was watching a news (Zee news) and surprised to know about the Indian Airforce new policy. And this policy is different for men and women, so what’s the deal? You could be airforce pilot as long as your wait is controled under certain limit. But if you cross that limit and gain couple more pounds then treatment differ based on your gender. If you are men you will be transfered to ground duty and if women then no cents for guessing you will get terminated. One lady pilot already fighting her case after being an airforce pilot for couple of years and later after gaining wait got terminated.
I was trying to get this news in some link but no luck, if any of you know let me know the link.

1**You could be airforce pilot as long as your weight is controled under certain limit.
I believe there’s a scientific and logical reason behind this rule. Only cos pilots cant be too heavy as they fly planes. There’s a weight limit for an aeroplane and especially for those who control it’s cockpit. It’s understandable that we cant have over-weight (and unhealthy) bodies piloting a plane, putting both passengers and themselves at risk. Remember that weight is somehow related to heart-attacks and other physical problems…so we cant have that risk up there, now can we
as for women being terminated if gained weight, there must be a medical explanation to that too…cos men and women have different bodies….hai na?

2@Keshi, you didn’t get the point. I have no concern with being over weight or under weight for any gender. Even if ther is any medical problem that lady could be transfered to any ground job or medicla leave just like her men counterpart. But why get terminated because of policy change and even she is not applicable to get any retirment benefit. I think I didn’t put that news appropriately.
