“Nehru sent Abdullah to Dr. Ambedkar to explain to him the position and draft an appropriate Article for the constitution. Dr. Ambedkar was a good friend of mine. He himself told me that after hearing Abdullah patiently, he told him “Mr. Abdullah, you want that India should defend Kashmir, India should develop Kasmir and Kashmiris should have equal rights as the citizens of India, but you don’t want India and any citizen of India to have any rights in Kasmir. I am the Law miniter of India, I can not betray the interest of my country.” as told by Prof. Balraj Madhok.
What happened next, as in real life “if you will not do it someone else do it” and same happened next. To know more about this read The truth about Article 370, if sounds boring and don’t want to read start to finish, no problem! BUT definetly DO NOT miss I.2 Patel’s ‘basket of apples’ and I.3 Article 306-A….. sections (one after another). Why? Do you know which three rulers (or part of current states) didn’t join India by 14th August 1947, one day before Independence day and how they joined India later. Don’t No, right! thats why.
But this post is not about article 370, that was just for reference. There is a very good couplet in hindi/urdu related to this issues or problem or whatever you want to name.
Ek kadam galat utha tha raahe shauk me
manzil tamaam umra mujhe dhoondhti rahi
(means, one wrong step in journey and my destination (or goal) was looking for me in my whole life). Exactly this, what I feel happened with J & K and India an un-solved mystery hanging around here for years and many more to come. Till today I didn’t know that there is a separate citizenship for the people of Jammu and Kashmir all the years I was thinking everybody who live in India is a citizen of country, not distinguised by state. And this actually force me to google it for article 370. I came to know about this thru an e-mail forward to chithakar group, you can read this story right here published in BBC (unfortunately I didn’t find this article in english version). So, here one line is India and other one is Jammu & Kashmir and 3 Lakh people from 50 thousand families living between these two parallel lines.
And the last nail, topic se hatke, no matter this six year old girl is crimial or not in both cases it’s a shame for Police.
